About Me

Banu Ugur is an interdisciplinary visual artist whose practice explores identity, persona, memory, and the emotional complexity of the human experience. Working across painting, printmaking, installation, and ceramics, she investigates the relationship between the body, material, and perception. Her artistic process combines traditional techniques with experimental approaches, allowing chance and material transformation to become active elements of the work. Through layered surfaces, textures, and sculptural forms, she creates visual narratives that invite multiple interpretations rather than fixed meanings.

Alongside figurative painting, her installations incorporate recycled materials to examine the relationship between human activity and the environment. By transforming discarded objects into artistic forms, she encourages reflection on consumption, sustainability, and the possibilities of renewal.

Currently, her practice focuses on developing a personal visual language that brings together emotional expression, material experimentation, and interdisciplinary thinking.
